Developed in conjunction with Hyundai's European-based design and technical centre, the ix35 boasts an exterior based on Hyundai's 'Fluidic Sculpture' design philosophy with a muscular presence, sweeping curves and sharp creases that create a sophisticated athletic look.

Panorama glass roof (HIGHLANDER)

Let the light shine in while all your passengers enjoy panoramic sky views. The ix35's audacious glass roof creates a true sense of space, with dual-panels above front and rear seats. The electronic controlled centre panel can be fully opened or tilted partly open.

Alloy Wheels

ix35's sleek sculptured lines are perfectly matched by 17" dual five-spoke alloy wheels on the Elite, and mighty 18" dual five-spoke alloys on the Highlander. The Active is equipped with 17" steel wheels and stylised covers as standard. All grades carry a full-size spare in the same finish.

Side Mirrors With Indicator Lights

ix35's side mirrors feature indicator lights for high visibility, and triple-signal one-touch operation for added safety. To help you easily manoeuvre into tight spaces, Highlander features fold-in electric side mirrors that are activated by a push button located inside the driver's door.

Dual-Zone Air Conditioning Unit

ix35 provides individual comfort for all passengers. Standard air conditioning features easy-to-use manual temperature controls, while Highlander models also include automatic dual-zone climate control and cluster ionizer to clean the air while the air conditioner is operating.

Driving Comfort

Experience a new level of comfort that makes every drive a pleasure. Features include enhanced road stability, an ergonomically designed interior and high-quality materials that are inviting to the touch. ix35 allows you to configure a multitude of seating options for total comfort, with Elite and Highlander including a fully adjustable electric driver's seat. All grades are equipped with a tilt and telescopic adjustment steering wheel.

All Terrain Capability

The ix35 is a genuine crossover - available in Active 2-wheel drive (2WD) or the Elite and Highlander All-Wheel-Drive (AWD) models. These urban nomads can take you comfortably through city streets or outback terrain. The suspension system has been developed and tuned for Australian conditions.

2.0 Theta-II Engine

Available with the Active model, this latest generation all aluminium four cylinder petrol engine delivers 122kW power via 5 speed manual, or optional 6 speed automatic transmission. The 2.0 Theta-II delivers smooth performance with excellent 8.5 l/100km* fuel economy.

2.4 Theta-II Engine

This double overhead cam petrol engine provides extra power and torque for the all wheel drive Elite model, combined with a frugal 9.2 l/100km* fuel economy.

2.0 R-series Engine

The top of the range all wheel drive Highlander and Elite are both equipped with the stunning R-series CRDi turbo Diesel engine – the most powerful Diesel engine in its class. With its 135kW power, and staggering 392Nm torque, the 2.0 R-series has comparable performance to much larger engines. The engine provides sporty acceleration and agility, yet with a small car fuel economy of just 7.5 l/100km* and very low CO2 emissions of 198g/100km.^

Safety

ANCAP 5 Star Safety Rating

All models of the ix35 are equipped with a comprehensive array of advanced safety features that help you control the vehicle in challenging conditions. No wonder ix35 has achieved an ANCAP 5 star rating - the highest possible safety rating for a motor vehicle in Australia.

The Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) enhances safety under emergency braking situations by preventing your brakes from locking up and distributing braking force according to your vehicle's load.

Similarly, in an emergency manoeuvre, Electronic Stability Control (ESC) helps keep the vehicle on track, while Hyundai's Traction Control System (TCS) monitors your grip, reducing wheel spin so that you can accelerate on slippery or uneven road surfaces. With Elite and Highlander, on demand All-Wheel-Drive (AWD) distributes power evenly to all four wheels to improve traction, giving you greater control and confidence on slippery, wet or uneven surfaces.

Hill-Start Assist Control

This frequently-used safety feature is activated automatically when driving off from a standing start, on an uphill climb. It minimises backward rolling, helping to prevent any possible collision with the vehicle behind you and providing a smoother start-off. After applying the brake, the Hill-Start Assist Control will hold the vehicle for approximately three seconds.

SIX Airbags

With six airbags as standard, the ix35 gives you peace-of-mind that all your passengers are protected. The driver and front passenger airbags are supported by dual-side front (thorax) airbags, while roof-mounted side curtain airbags extend from front to rear.

Dusk Sensing Headlights (Elite & Highlander)

ix35's headlight sensors detect lighting conditions and automatically turn on when required to ensure you stay visible and stay safe. Their function includes low-light environments such as tunnels or covered car parks.

Reversing Camera

A rear-view camera built-in to all Highlander models assists you to reverse with safety. A live colour image from the camera appears in a LCD display within the driver's rear-view mirror. Smart Park Assist technology provides a graphical overlay on the camera image to guide you when reversing into a parking spot.

Safety Window

A driver's side safety window is just one of the advanced safety features of ix35. The safety window can prevent serious injury, by automatically stopping and moving down if it is travelling upwards and any part of your body - or any other object - enters its path.

Active 'Anti-Whiplash' Head Restraints

Front active 'anti-whiplash' head restraints, standard on all ix35 models, offer superior whiplash protection in a rear impact. They use the force of the occupant's body against the seatback to move the head restraint forward so that the head and neck of the front-seat occupant are supported.
